“When I stare at the Full Moon long enough I see the Buddha smile.”
It has been a busy 30 days since the last Full Moon, also in Aquarius, (0 degrees and the first decan of Aquarius ruled by Uranus). This Moon at 28 degrees is in the last 1/3 of the sign and is therefore ruled by Venus (just the decan, that 10 degree segment correspond-ing to Libra-the second decan relates to Gemini and Mercury). This creates a very different feel to these two Full Moons. While the first may have felt highly liberating (inducing release of old beliefs), this one may feel shockingly intimate. This Full Moon will encourage us to cross the boundary we have to connecting with more than just a significant other on a deep level. And yes, if for some reason a relationship has avoided these waters—time for a plunge! In the end we are all better friends.
And of course the relationship to Self automatically pops up for consideration. Becoming more intimately acquainted with Self along the way is our primary desire. The set up for this is found within the two planets in question, Venus, ruler of the third decan of Aquarius and Uranus the primary ruler of Aquarius. They are 7 degrees away from exact opposition; that will occur August 26. Our next several days will include confronting our habitual desire nature (Venus is in Libra—what kind of relationship do we desire—who is it that desires relationship) promoted by the planet of evolution and freedom, Uranus in the sign of Aries, I seek Self. Challenging to know Self when what we seek lies forever outside the self.
If we need to be shown the same thing in a hundred or a thousand or a billion different ways then we are on the right planet. We get a kajillion chances here. We will discover the way to make the fire blaze eventually, even after all the matches have been used.
With Ceres (the Mother) conjunct the Sun at 26 degrees Leo, well, I do get the sense that I am my own creator. I’m not, therefore, actually looking for someone to play that role for me anymore. And with Neptune in close range of the Moon, I realize the true nature of the illusion that has been identified with the planet Neptune all along. I am that which I seek. I am the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And Saturn trines Neptune anchoring us in a deep sense of Reality. Of course absolute reality has no depth it just is, and so our understanding of that is what deepens toward presence and peace.
I track my fears like a hunter relentlessly pursuing his prey. Self-realization is beyond belief where death/annihilation no longer loom as our greatest barrier to “that”. There is no death. With Saturn in Scorpio we come to realize this. That which we are is infinite/eternal. It slowly creeps out and upon us as more people discuss their near death experiences and people go on TV to communicate messages from those who have left their bodies. Slowly we are acquainting our selves with possibilities—expanding our awareness to include more. Including that I am not the mind that appears to extend it self beyond death into infinity when all it really is is a phenomenon arising in that.
The fixed star that conjuncts this Full Moon is Gienah Cygni, the eastern wing in the Swan constellation and is associated with ‘flying high’ or ascendance an apt description for the nature of our collective experience at this time; the east, the land of the rising Sun and awakening. The Sabian symbol for this lunar phase is, “a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis”, another indicator of transformative processing that contributes to the understanding of the nature of duality that automatically thrusts one into a knowing of the absolute. Interestingly a Monarch butterfly for instance, has a clear chrysalis, a fact that I had not known until a friend reported upon the Monarch chrysalises around her home recently.
It would seem that during this very vulnerable phase of life/becoming, having the whole world watching as you sleep would make one even more vulnerable. The pupa developing has no idea of what is going on around it and goes through its transformation uninhibited by external occurrences. Human beings are required, initially, to have a whole lot of faith as they begin to bare them selves to the perceived unknown; the difference being that a caterpillar grows wings whilst a human being is merely awaking up to that which it already is. This should be a far less intimidating experience but humans tend to distract themselves from the event endlessly.
In astrology there is a symbol, circle with a cross through it, called the point of fortune. This is generally talked about, according to sign and house, as the place where one will find the greatest sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. During this Full Moon it is at 26 degrees Sagittarius, sextile the Moon and trine the Sun. Sagittarius as we know, “seeks truth” indicating that arriving at the simplicity of ones true nature is what affords one the greatest satisfaction. Points do not generate energy of their own but rather represent a destination for planetary evolutionary energy. As we expand into our blueprint we will be greeted with an enormous sense of fulfillment represented by the Point of Fortune. House placement is a valuable bit of information and that will differ according to the ascendant, the time for which a chart is cast. On the West Coast the Point of Fortune occupies the 6th house ruled by Scorpio and therefore for all of us in this sector of the world will be looking to express what we glean from the Sun/Moon opposition in a way that benefits our concept of perfection—not the need for that but knowing that I am “that”. It can happen by osmosis. Nothing we need do.
What is the energy guiding the integration of the results of these various planetary alignments? Mars in Cancer exactly conjunct the Black Moon Lilith represents a force with which to be reckoned. Fortunately in Cancer we are talking about the power of caring and of the compassion that resides in the hearts of all beings for each other that hasn’t always had the freedom to express it self. This couple generates an energy beyond that which we experience in duality. Together they radiate beyond the limitations of what is known to us. It may appear frightening at first but once we let go and fall into it we discover there is nothing to fear, only freedom. We relax and whether devoured, as by a black hole or spit back out as would be the case with some rare black holes (although they will probably find many more that pump energy out) where the energy is extracted.
Either way there is nothing to fear, ever, and no Full Moon is just a glowing orb but an opportunity to explore, adventure and transcend the many beliefs that form the structure that is human existence. It is a fine structure but we are not that.
