Deep within the creases of my unfolding mind I dare to ask “who am I”. I hear the wind reply in ferocious gusts drowning out the possibility of hearing any suggestion offered from the past, an array of misconceptions piled one upon the other and concealing the answer; that which is, always, ‘not moving, nor changing nor requiring effort’. There is no unfolding, no question, only limitless knowing and eternal grace.

This New Moon in Pisces offers us more than just a glimpse into the deep regions of space whence we began. We are dynamically ushered into the truth of our existence whereupon our perspective changes in the blink of an eye. We achieve this shift of attention without a fierce slap on the back, the preferred method of Don Juan Matus in the Art of Dreaming. To assist his student, Carlos Castaneda, to ‘see’ a different reality the Yaqui sorcerer would pound Castaneda between the shoulder blades to initiate alternate experiences. The Art of Dreaming focuses on several stages (of a perceived seven) of lucid dreaming that potentially lead to one’s “total awareness”.  

As there are five planets in Pisces until February 23^rd (the moon will move into Aries on the evening of that day) we have a great opportunity to swim in the boundless sea of infinite peace, compassion and awareness. Being sensitive to others, their needs, as well as our own fills the world with gentle kindness and loving consideration. In the depths of the ocean subtle movement is felt quickly. Respond time is immediate. All senses are based upon a deep level of intuitive knowing. For these few days we may indulge our selves in the pleasure of unlimited imagination and intuitive perception that blossoms into new projects, new and deeper relationships and a greater understanding of the self in relation to the whole.

A New Moon represents a period of ‘coming out of the dark’. A new cycle of activity is being initiated both for the individual and the collective. This does occur once a month but in relation to February and 2012 this information holds something specific for us. With an array of planets in Pisces, including Neptune, we might consider 12^th house issues as highly relevant. We might want to be prepared for issues from the past percolating to the surface or mysterious fears arising that have little basis in reality. Some of us may experience physical sensitivities to environmental or psychological toxicity. How this New Moon affects you will depend on where this major concentration of planets falls in your own chart.

In terms of the collective, we are aware of what our agenda is, for the planet and humanity. We are looking to utilize our wisdom in a way that serves the highest good. This is not foreign to us. But at this time, it means applying wisdom to a far broader range of circumstances.

This is a characteristic of the twelfth house, Neptune and Pisces. Sheared away are all the illusions that define us, that keep us bound to misconceptions of power, greed and separateness. It is perhaps an overused analogy, but in the ocean there are no drops of water only the vast expanse of infinite consciousness.

Just two days before this New Moon there is a square that occurs between the Moon and Saturn at 29 degrees Capricorn and 29 degrees Libra. It calls us to attention. We become focused on patterns that do not serve us in a practical manner. Capricorn wants to be free of structures that are limiting and aspires to lofty creation. Fear does not contribute to this goal or insecurities that bind one to useless fabrications. We are shedding our collective skin and exposing our true nature which is limitless creative potential that serves the highest good. We will take everything we have done up until now and use what is beneficial and dispose of the rest in a timely and efficient manner. There is nothing that human beings can not do. We will astonish our selves in the next 50 years. We have astonished our selves in these last 50 years.

Of course there is more than one side to any astrological aspect and a New Moon in Pisces could also indicate a period of indecisiveness or a desire to escape whatever daily concerns you may have. Plunging into the depths is a way of avoidance (typically this includes drugs, alcohol, films or perhaps insanity). That is what Galatea chose. Galatea was a sea nymph who, as myth would have it, to avoid the wrath of the Cyclops Polyphemus, whose love she had scorned, fled and hid in the sea leaving her lover Acis in the path of the giant’s rage. He, the son of a woodland god and a river nymph did not have the option of following her. We presume that his Earthly half denied him access to the deeper realms. His fate was to be crushed beneath a boulder that Polyphemus hurled at the young couple. Rather ironically, Galatea had his blood turned into a river of the same name. It flows by Mount Etna in Sicily.

Avoidance however, will not be the path we choose. We are finished with sticking our heads in the sand and withdrawing into worlds of fantasy. There are several aspects in this New Moon chart that would indicate the selection of acceptance. Uranus is at 2 degrees Aries exactly semi-sextile the Sun/Moon—not so much a choice here as a firm shove toward what is for the highest good; a flash of brilliance that pierces the illusion. The asteroid Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom, conjuncts the Sun/Moon not exactly but within a little over half a minute. Most may be familiar with the story of her birth; that she jumped from the brow of Zeus, her father, an adult fully armor clad. She was the protectoress of Athens, Greece from whom the inhabitants sought wise counsel. There is a tremendous aspect of responsibility that goes hand and hand with this asteroid that lends strength to this New Moon chart.

And not to forget the Black Moon Lilith that is coming into trine with Pluto in Capricorn—a deliberate scourging of fears that leaves one free to experience the power of the individual and as this trine progresses into an exact aspect in the next few weeks it will include Jupiter and Venus also in Taurus and Mars in Virgo. My feeling is a powerful time for Mother Earth, sometime in March followed by an equally powerful time for the collective advancing interests to secure land and acquire new possessions.

The importance of the fixed star Fomalhaut in star history requires that it be mentioned as an influence in this chart. At 4 degrees Pisces it has effect in the three days following the exact conjunction of Sun/Moon. The origin of this star’s history is Babylonian. It is known as one of the four ‘Royal Stars’ marking at one time the change in seasons as well as the four directions Fomalhaut representing the South and our roots. The other three are Aldebaran in Taurus (East), Antares in Scorpio (West)  and Regulus in Leo (North). Fomalhaut is in the ancient constellation Piscis Austrinus and has been associated with the Babylonian fish-god Oannes who came to Earth to teach humans how to be civilized. This star also is identified with changes that occur to promote spiritual forms of expression rather than material. Included with this kind of transformation can be intense emotional and physical experiences. The exact aspect of Moon and Fomalhaut occurs three hours after the Sun/Moon conjunction and two days later the Sun and Fomalhaut come into exact conjunction.

Releasing expectations at this time would be a wise choice. Going with the flow is a highly regarded decision as the warp and weft begin to dissolve and we are left swimming in an ocean of silence. We are required to listen intently as things may not ‘proceed as usual’. It is all part of this beautiful plan we create for our selves—all to be in love and in joy.

The dual nature of the love goddess was expressed by early philosophers. Her celestial or spiritual aspect was referred to as Aphrodite Urania while her more accessible persona was Aphrodite Pandemos. It is the higher level of expression we seek to honor in Aphrodite at this time. After all she cuddles up to Uranus now which gives us that high voltage kick in the butt that so many of us need in order to transcend our state of ignorance (not meant as criticism of course, we are where we are and that is perfect until we choose something different).

And, Uranus is apparently responsible for this goddess’s birth. When Uranus was castrated by his son Cronus (Saturn) the severed parts were flung into the ocean. The foam that sprang up from the sea became Aphrodite. So much beauty to be born of such violence and yet a new destiny for humanity with this act. Time in physical reality and physicality at the same time as implanting the ever present potential for transcendence—it is our choice! Interestingly, on February 9^th this radiant planet conjuncts Uranus exactly at the midpoint of Chiron in Pisces and Jupiter in Taurus. Chiron is a representation of our wound and in Pisces this might look like some deep thought that we have been abandoned by spirit. The result has been a long period of suffering that is quite worn out. Jupiter in Taurus on the other hand is all about expanding into the physicality or presence of that spirit in human form and trusting in the ‘process’. Actually there is nothing we need do. When we are willing, it all happens by itself perfectly. The rest is entertainment!

Extra dynamic, courageous, adventurous, fearless, enthusiastic, blunt and impulsive are a few of the benefits of Aphrodite/Venus transiting Aries (who was her favorite lover for these very characteristics) until March 5^th. So, have a wild, impetus ride for the next three weeks or so and dare to explore every nook and cranny of your self—no censoring required. A bit of celebrity trivia, Elizabeth Taylor had an exact conjunction of Venus and Uranus in Aries! Not surprising.

Some people say (those living in regions near Timbavati,Africa) that the white lion is sacred and is an ‘enlightenment bearer’. Credo Mutwa, well known Zulu/Bushman shaman, is one who would support this statement. His view points are presented in Linda Tucker’s wonderful 10 year study of the white lion and African shamanism, The Mystery of the White Lions. It is a great source of information that indicates our connection to these big cats that reaches far back into human history; that in fact they were present on this planet to assist humans in understanding the interspecies bond, a vital integration of knowledge that took place which saw humans become predators rather than prey.

Those who are recipients of the Great Memory, what shamans speak of as access to knowledge that includes the origins of humanity, say that lions came from the constellation Leo. The belief in cosmic origins permeates many of the stories told by African shamans for many centuries. The recent reintroduction of white lions into the wild (The first were released in 2003 but on a protected preserve. Otherwise white lions are hunted to extinction.) is thought to be a sign that we are about to return balance to the original interspecies bond—we only take what we need from nature.

This Full Moon in Leo is a reminder of the relationship we experience between the rational and the instinctive, between self will and will for the highest good, between service to the aspect of self which is of the earth and that which is of the cosmos. Essentially we are all of that and not in two separate packages but one with the innate understanding of what is for our highest good.  If we stand upon the Sun and look across to the Moon we see compassion, generosity and the innate sense of self in relation to planetary order. It is what indigenous peoples have known for centuries. If we stand upon the Moon and look to the Sun we see rationale, cool logic and great vision that guides us to a new level of awareness particularly as Mercury is in exact conjunction with the Sun providing crystal mental clarity to expanded vision. Together is a blend of energy that supports the evolution of our primal instinctive nature. Wiser, and guided by the compassion to divide and share, we devise ways of providing much for many from the abundant resources we have here.

Connecting with the deep love we have for all life becomes a prerequisite for existence. Power to empower rather than disempower is a new focus and as such our whole perception of money and consumerism takes a 180 degree turn. Does all of that seem a little idealistic? It is not beyond the scope of these two fixed signs both determined and willful, courageous and daring. Taking on a cause no matter the odds can be a characteristic of both Leo and Aquarius. They may accomplish their tasks in different ways but in the end no one goes without. And there is nothing wrong with idealism!

This Full Moon should provide us with the strength and bravado to leap buildings in a single bound while encouraging others to rise up and express their true nature. It does the heart good to feel the energy that this Full Moon creates!

The fact that Neptune moved into Pisces on February 3^rd in aspect to Venus at 29 degrees Pisces is monumental support for the transcendence of consciousness that is taking place in lightning quick flashes across the planet. And talk about idealism. What was here today, in terms of outdated thought patterns may surely be gone tomorrow and this we count upon. The dissolution of societal territories and the belief that everything is possible are aspects well within the limitless waters of Neptune where the all defining concept is love. Venus at 29 degrees Pisces is a moment of sublime gratitude for the realization of desires, knowing the beloved, hearing Beethoven’s 9^th, seeing Monet’s Water Lilies or feeling the interconnection of all things in the vast interplay of components that is this reality. And then the brilliant knowing that may follow that as I hear it, see it or sense that, it is all me and the blissful familiarity of recognizing all of it as my self.

Although Neptune is often defined as nebulous and difficult to understand, it is only that words fall short of describing the nature of this planet; like the challenge of expressing the realization of self, when that is the end result of everything else falling away, then you are left with nothing to say. It is a knowing beyond all that we experience here, the illusion that this is us. When we transcend that field everything becomes available. Our folly is fear of this unknown and the reluctance to ‘let go’ of established parameters. Fear results in avoidance of what is not known.

As Neptune resides in its own sign this time round we are well prepared to take the chance that in the apparent darkness is the brightest light. We no longer make judgments, desire to control anything or be attached to our opinions in a way that creates resistance rather than flow. We will not dissolve. We will not lose our selves in depravity or insanity or to the clutches of various dis-eases of the physical form when we trust in the timeless, changeless self. In this everything is perfect.

Saturn moving into retrograde in exact aspect to Venus, both at 29 degrees on the 7^th holds us steady upon our course—a reprieve. In case we have not already carefully examined the nature of our relationships we have another opportunity, one for which we should be quite grateful. Saturn moving into Scorpio late in June could portent serious business. Whatever tendencies we have, either as individuals or as a community that deny us access to a heightened awareness will be routed out and severed from their lodging places. Deception may be an aspect of Scorpio but so is a persistent desire to uncover whatever lies beneath the surface and eludes most—a gift of the water signs, discovery of what lies in the depths of the unknown.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon is a “houseboat party” simple but profound. The element of water figures prominently in this image as the support for a community of celebrators who we might imagine are ‘enjoying freedom from structured social behavior’ and reveling in a connection to something greater than them selves; knowing that within the self is all that is needed to successfully navigate the deepest waters. The opposite symbol for the Sun is a “forest fire being subdued by water, chemicals and sheer muscular energy.” From joy upon the waters to great effort to stop the fire. In the end being certain that all the resources required to prevent any form of disaster is at the disposal of those who know that to be true. We see that trusting in both symbols is a part of our experience here. As we progress through this year trust will be a powerful ally in traversing whatever may arise. In this chart, the planet of faith and trust Jupiter, snuggles up to the Black Moon Lilith both in Taurus.

As we continue to work on issues of self worth and security the BML plays a dual function that might look or feel like ruthless compassion; ruthless in the persistent reminder to exorcise all that is worthless and does not serve the higher self and compassion which comes from the deep pool of unconditional love that is as prevalent as the waters that flow so easily everywhere upon this planet. Just a beautiful face to look at? I think not. This Full Moon is a strong and determined force in our evolutionary journey which, as we know has accelerated enormously in a brief span of time. We shift and leap and transform in ways that are not always immediately apparent. But just as there has been a great deal hidden from us that has not served our highest good there is also an equal ‘amount’ hidden from us that does serve our highest good. The way to see both—just open our eyes! Have a revelatory two weeks, until the New Moon.

There is a silence in winter more still than any other time of the year. Energies are withdrawn deep into vital parts for safe keeping. Cold may encourage this or drought. The stillness penetrates to our core. We become aware of our own vital nature. Our senses are suddenly attuned to the softest of sound, movement of air, whilst our sense of smell is overwhelmed by wet leaves, earth, bark, stone. Our relation to Atman is all that we may discern.

February is a month for reflection. In the heart of winter when blankets are pulled close around us, the days are shorter we have a natural inclination to rest within the protective layers of self. With two eyes peering out into the vast unknown we sit with inquiring mind—who am I? The question, in the stillness, echoes into nothingness. February is a good time to focus on what is still and ever lasting; to notice when peace is the result of having no desire and attention only to this moment. Creativity oozes from a mind now free to express the passion of an expanded universe. You are called to share, lovingly, gently, courageously, with bravado—there is no time and nothing but, as you explore and emit sounds, images, feelings that caress another and suddenly we all rise and fall in a symphony of peace. What does peace sound like, look like, feel like? If we envision this, we become this.

In February allow your self to flow with what exists. Do not dress it up, build it up, analyze it, complicate it in any way. Listen, in the stillness, without thought and you will be guided without effort, worry or unnecessary drama to exactly where you most want to be.

The color for February is dove grey, the color of a winter dawn. It is soft, silent and expansive. We can paint whatever we wish upon this canvas.

Saturn is retrograde from February 7^th until June 25^th. As it begins this slowed motion in exact aspect to Venus we might count on issues of desires/wants, self worth, values and relationships to become a focus during these few months. From an evolutionary standpoint, we should consider how we communicate with one another and the far reaching implications of these actions and reactions. It takes focus and discipline and that is the gift of Saturn. At first it may not seem easy but the results of a little attention on reassessing everything that has to do with relating, to people and nature, have great benefit in an individual’s life and the greater community. Saturn will control tendencies to put the head in the sand, to check out and expect someone else to be responsible. Ultimately Saturn will perform the functions that allow Venus to feel comfortable and secure whilst releasing old patterns and emanating peace and love. We may come to appreciate Saturn for what it offers rather than fearing it for what it seems to suggest.

Three Cards for February

Ace of Wands/Rods: Creating with inspiration, wisdom and new perceptions of our capabilities and potential. Clarity and direction that have the power to bring into reality all that we can imagine. 

Five of Wands: What must we overcome? Confusion, chaos and the sense of not knowing. Five is about change and here, there can be a stubborn adherence to not recognizing the truth in this moment but as the next arrives it soon becomes clear that resisting or dancing in oblivion is an exhausting process while surrender initiates ease and grace.

Three of Coins/Pentacles: The card of practical creation; having the tools and resources and the know how to accomplish in reality what you have envisioned. This is the card that gets the job done and is a perfect compliment to the Ace of Rods—envisioning and implementing.

1+5+3=9 is the number of human evolution. This month ahead portents mighty acts of service and realization that even small acts of compassion have a great affect on the whole community.

It would seem, that as long as we are all in harmony that there can be an infinite display of frequencies relating to the same natural vibration. In the end it might sound something like the hum of a beehive.

You might assume that the first New Moon of this new year would plunge us into an awareness more significant and deeper than we have experienced yet. You would be correct. The energy around this Aquarius Sun/Moon conjunction is of course, electric and as such has the potential to transform existing elements into new organisms—the key word being transformation. At the very least what can occur is a fusing of the conscious or ego self and the instinctive self that results in awakening—even if for just a second or an hour or a day, to “get it” revolutionizes experience here. We are the ocean from which the wave arises not the wave, the screen upon which our thoughts are projected, not the object on the screen. As that which is, after all else is not, we proceed in perfect alignment with the natural unfolding—life is an experience then of pure grace.

With this chart we see old patterns being hastily dismantled allowing for the very timely eruption of the unknown. It could not have been more perfect if we ‘had planned it our selves’! The t-square: Saturn (29 deg Libra) Jupiter (1 deg Taurus) opposition, square to Sun/Moon (2 deg Aquarius). This represents a place of utilizing the truth, the deep inner knowing of Saturn in this last degree of Libra, in a practical way to divest one self of what ever does not serve ‘that’. With Jupiter in opposition, if there is doubt, that tendency will be expelled from your repertoire. The Sabian Symbol that applies to 2 degrees Taurus (always round up to the next degree) is an “electric storm”.

The crack of light we see blasting across darkened skies is billions of volts of natural static electricity followed by thunder. It is a terrific display of weather that is beyond our control and supplies enormous energy to the atmosphere and environment. Such is the nature of Jupiter harnessed in this t-square; a powerhouse to assist us in overcoming insecurity.

This dynamic we find squaring ‘the eye of the needle’, the conjunction of Sun/Moon, should handily dissolve several layers of illusion in which we have bundled our selves for a long time. In this early degree of Aquarius the human being ‘awakens’ to it self as an individual with the potential to realize self. Formerly, as a part of the whole, in this case a component of society indulged in numerous rules and regulations that keep one focused on the illusion and not what is, there is attachment to existence within a structure appearing to be real. In reality it is our thoughts projected onto the screen. As we begin to wiggle free of the illusion, sometimes flaying madly in the beginning, we see more clearly. The movement lessens and as we approach the single point of truth there is no movement. We are still. It is in this stillness that we finally awaken.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is a “deserter from the navy”; that is the individual moving to a place separate from the collective in order to realize self and know one self utterly. The fixed star at 2 degrees of Aquarius is Altair, a star in the neck of the Eagle, the constellation Aquila. “This bird brings back the thunderbolts which Jupiter has flung and fights in the service of heaven.” The star is associated with strong will, a keen penetrating mind and confidence. With these characteristics we easily ‘defend’ our selves for our highest good or feel absolutely secure in our knowing.

All movement toward this is perfect. Movement, we cannot resist. We are always moving. Within the movement is perfect stillness. The wave rises and falls and yet the ocean can be still.

We have not finished with Saturn, the Lord of karma and gatekeeper; standing upon the threshold that leads to our only real desire here that of discovering self. Saturn is the last planet that has earthly association. Saturn assists us in creating boundaries that serve us in a positive way. They help us to navigate a three dimensional existence in a practical and focused manner. Over millennia, these boundaries have served to define us in a negative way—they have become too confining.

What we could benefit from is the field without the fence. In astrology that might look like Saturn trineNeptune. That is the case during this New Moon. This aspect has preceded the New Moon and will continue on after it. This aspect will separate soon as Saturn goes retrograde on February 7 (back to 22 degrees Libra) but will come back into exact trine in October at which time both planets will be 0 degrees of Scorpio and Pisces.Neptunein its own sign! A powerful plunge into the realm of the undefined. For the individual, if we dare to apply such a vast concept to a mere mortal, we have a magnificent opportunity to wear the light body!

Once again we discuss Black Moon Lilith and its role in this particular chart remembering how it has been a major player for many months. It stands to reason that the point which represents our deepest fears and our greatest liberation, should occupy a central spot in this present unfolding. Grand trines are an easy flow of energy, so it is said. With BML in Taurus in this position of grace with Mercury in Capricorn and Mars in Virgo we can be assured of energy being expended toward implementing solid thought structures, practical, workable ideas that further our goals of realizing how much we may affect our existence here in a positive way. Once we truly understand the relationship between earth, cosmos and humanity, there will be an automatic shifting of priority to utilizing resources in a more discriminating way that serves the safety and security and highest good of all individuals and thus the collective.

We are here to ‘do it’ and man being adaptable will choose to adapt rather than become extinct. What naturally needs to occur will. Without resistance or in other words when we surrender, our survival and transcendence are a natural part of the process. Our willingness to change along with this planet and the universe is supported by the conjunction we see between the asteroid Ceres and Uranus at 1 degree Aries and aspecting then Jupiter, Chiron,Neptune, Sun/Moon and Saturn. There is a ‘healing’ taking place that will afford us a new perspective on who I Am. Aries refers to, “I seek my self” and that is exactly what is happening in terms of all forms of consciousness; seeking to remember self as that which simply is.

Our potential lies within our willingness to share and express what it is we discover about our selves knowing that this intimate communication with each other will promote an ease and harmony here. The waves of grace that embrace us now are encouraging such loving interaction. If we have resisted this in the past due to at least a dozen fears based upon memories from the past, they will seem inconsequential when the inner peace that is the alternative is recognized as a real choice.

During this New Moon delve deep and prepare for emergence into the light of self awareness and peaceful flow. When we do not resist there is boundless energy for so much more.

The week begins wondering “upon what do I base my sense of self worth/security when everything I want to hold onto either slips between my fingers or dissolves before my eyes”. It is blatantly apparent that humanity is in the midst of revolution for evolution and that it will affect people every where. Life as we know it is in the throws of major upheaval and may not look the same in the very near future. What is occurring is simply the taking off of the old and worn out in favor of a lighter more balanced set of apparel. How that looks for each individual will depend upon whence they begin the process. For the collective affect multiply by 6,852,472,823. There are no judgments about this. No one is expected to perform in any specific way and what is to occur will do so in spite of the best efforts to resist or thwart change.

I will briefly mention astrology here as 2012 continues to offer an outer planet aspect that has already contributed to significant change around the world. Uranus square Pluto, ‘revolution for evolution’, independence and freedom of the Uranian nature will continue to butt heads with the planet of ‘elimination for transformation’, the Plutonian force that destroys for the benefit of regeneration. Indeed we will be required to be flexible and adaptable—like the mutable signs of the zodiac, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces we will benefit from going with the flow and being willing to adapt needs to the environment rather than trying to make the environment fit our needs—we’ve done that. Change is something we want to embrace and become familiar with so that our fears may be laid to rest.

If we do this from a place of presence then it will be as if one is ‘the eye of the storm’, calm, steady and still. Presence is us without the stories. Presence is awareness without thought—observing as the details merge into one big picture. Presence is you and me minus the pronouns.

V of Swords: Our ‘enemies’ have been defeated! In other words are fears have been laid to rest, those pesky thoughts that deny us mobility. The V of swords implies movement that occurs based on freedom from limitations.

XX Judgement: An awakening! It is perfect! Now that we recognize the self as divine/light, we can no longer languish in the suffering or pain that has defined us for millennia. The blinkers are off and we will take responsibility for being here in a way that serves us in perfection.

2+5+20=27=9 and that is the number of human evolution and being of service to that ‘cause’; that service of course is first to the self and illumination thereof.

The dark depths exist in a process of accelerated expansion that cannot help but affect those below, on earth as we are a part of that. We on this planet and everything else in this Universe are in an ever evolving state of transformation as we expand outward from the center of creation. The recent discovery that our Universe is expanding, not contracting, was established by Edwin Hubble around 1929. By observation of the light spectrum it was determined that stars are moving away from not only earth but each other. This led researchers to the conclusion that everything originated from a single point. This theory established in the 20^th century was written about 14 centuries earlier in the Qur’an: 

“Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before We clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?” [Al-Anbiyaa 21:30]

A similar thought is expressed in Egyptian creation myths:

“In the beginning there was only water, a chaos of churning, bubbling water, this the Egyptians called Nu or Nun. It was out of Nu that everything began.”—www.egyptartsite.com

The Big Bang happened about 13.7 billion years ago. The earth formed when the Universe was approximately 9.2 billion years old. Anatomically modern humans appeared 200,000 years ago. 25,000 years ago marks the disappearance of Neanderthal traits from fossil records and 13,000 years ago traits of homo floresiensis disappeared from fossil records. And here we are, modern man, having made incredible leaps in some ways in these last 13,000 years. And on a trajectory to expand and evolve in an accelerated way as is the Universe so that in a few thousand years we may find our selves light years from our present position—almost back whence we came.

What was all that about? Well, it relates to this New Moon in Capricorn and the evolving form and structure of every part of this planet and the transformational journey we are perpetually aligned with. Pluto at 7 degrees Capricorn precedes this New Moon, clearing the way for powerful elimination of structures that do not serve us. Uranus squares the Sun/Moon in this cardinal feminine earth sign creating energy for enlightenment, evolution, eco-regeneration, economic transmutation and basic structural recreation of our conscious and instinctive forms of perception. In other words our thought forms (which eventually show up here in material form) are experiencing significant overhaul through the elimination of memories that have been the basis for these forms. We want to be here in a new way that looks quite different than much of what has preceded us.

During this New Moon, occurring at the end of 2011, we set the stage for a cosmic leap that will carry us beyond what has informed us for thousands of years. We have the wisdom to heal our wounds (what wounds?), Jupiter trines Sun/Moon and Chiron sextiles Sun/Moon and to realize that we have always been on top of the mountain (my impression of the New Moon at 2 degrees of Capricorn). We fully comprehend the nature of duality here and therefore realize also the nature of oneness. The wound that has the potential to heal (thereby revolutionizing our understanding of duality) has to do with the complex feminine structure that has been misinterpreted for millennia (as has the masculine structure but one subject at a time) that is represented by Ceres, nurturer, Juno wife and the Black Moon Lilith, the point of surrender where we engage with the self that is beyond definition.

BML and Juno are in exact opposition at 20 degrees Taurus/Scorpio while Ceres trines Juno and sextiles BML. That which nurtures us at 22 degrees Pisces (Ceres) is awareness that sustenance comes from spirit and so we are fed abundantly and eternally.

This combined with the true knowledge of self (BML) carries us to a place of full mystic union that is naturally fulfilling on all levels (Juno). To this configuration we add one more planet and that is Mars in Virgo so that the experience contains both elements of duality. Mars sextiles Juno (appeasement) trines BML (yes I am perfect) and opposes Ceres (my gift is in nurturing my self). This geometry is known as a Mystic rectangle and represents the potential for constructive use of our natural talents. This emphasizes the power of BML to energize this geometry further as the BML is the point at which we access our true gifts. This fueled by the masculine energy of Mars which in Virgo exercises discrimination, think before doing, en route to the recognition that everything is perfect and I am.

Apparently all the elements of change are in perfect alignment and we need not wonder or be concerned how this evolutionary process will transpire. Saturn the ruler of Capricorn and the guardian who oversees our passage from the earthly dominion to that beyond is in opposition to Jupiter quincunx Uranus and trineNeptunewhich would suggest the beginning of adopting wiser patterns of behaviour based on transcending boundaries and greater responsibility for our actions. Saturn at 27 degrees Libra relates to 28 degrees in the book of Sabian Symbols as we always round up and is expressed as: “a man becoming aware of spiritual forces surrounding and assisting him” a fair indication of how these planets in aspect to Saturn will influence our experience.

When we mention our potential as indicated by the nature of a Mystic rectangle we can further determine how we will experience this New Moon by observing the fifth harmonic chart that relates to the New Moon chart. The fifth harmonic shows up in the ‘natal’ chart as a quintile, a 72 degree aspect that has to do with the potential use of our gifts. Number five is the first number through which humans have an opportunity to create. Here we find all the major players in powerful aspect to each other which comes as no surprise that our potential at this time should be so profoundly supported in every corner of the solar system. 

Ceres, of whom we have already spoken, is in a grand trine with Neptune and Venus—an abundance of love and compassion is at the heart of what nurtures us. It is a powerful aspect to encourage more loving and enlightened interaction, gifts that come naturally to us! Juno sextile Pallas Athena and quincunx the Sun/Moon would suggest a working relationship between innate wisdom and a primal desire that result in the perfect union of body/mind and spirit or the conscious and unconscious. And again, now Vesta sextile Sun/Moon and these quincunx Juno forming another yod that profoundly points to mystic union based on the fire that purifies and enlightens illuminating conscious/unconscious self to know mystic union. With so many aspects interrelating it would be unthinkable for us not to be moved out of delusion and into the light of knowing—love, peace and harmony—that I am. Of course as individuals, the journey to arrive at this destination may require one to heave ho a lot of stuff that has collected over millennia. If that sounds heavy and difficult it need not be.

As all of our burdens are illusions and weigh no more than the feather of truth which the Egyptian goddess Ma’at laid upon the scales to measure the weight of the heart of the deceased (where the soul was thought to reside). If the heart was heavier than Ma’at’s feather the soul was destined to remain in the underworld, Duat. If however the heart was light and pure the soul was ushered into Aaru, heavenly paradise.

The Sun/Moon in the fifth harmonic chart square the north and south node in Libra and Aries respectively an indication of moving into a place of balance and harmony (Libra) and union from a place of individual strength through realization of bodily form united with instinctive knowing. As Libra is ruled by Venus we are brought round to the grand trine with Venus, Neptune and Ceres—the nurturing that is ours by virtue of experiencing the relationship of self as spirit. One more word about the harmonic charts, in the 12^th harmonic, which I checked to see where Ceres might be as she is at 22 degrees of Pisces (12^th house) in our original chart, she is at 2 degrees of Capricorn. I would be interested in knowing what readers may think about this interplay between the charts. My thought is that on a spiritual level everything is in perfection and what we experience on the conscious level is the result of the interaction of elements on so many different levels. That ultimately we will recognize that everything we need in this physical reality is provided through our knowing that we are always nurtured, abundantly and eternally by my self as I am that which is eternally abundant. There is nothing we need do or be concerned about. We are here for the ride and we should plan to enjoy it—in love and compassion.

I can say that looking for some where to live while the messenger was apparently moving backward resulted in a sure thing the next morning being removed from my grasp (this is okay and perfect in the big picture ). Several places not being quite the palaces some people would like you to think they are. And in general nothing showing up that had much potential as a future place for rest, relaxation and regeneration.

As time has run out in terms of my finding a new space to coincide with my current date of departure, I am looking at lessons to be learned, for signs from the Universe or guides or anything that might encourage me to see this as a wonderful, exciting opportunity to feel free, uninhibited and creative. Having mused upon this subject extensively for the last few days I have come to the conclusion that my whole perception of home is being radically altered, for purposes of non-identification I presume—I am not my body, I am not my mind nor is my sense of security the least bit reliant upon having a home or any thing else I would dare to call mine. I did cheat a little and have manifested house sitting jobs for the next two weeks so not entirely ‘homeless’. Bottom line here, having faith and trust that every thing I need comes in perfect timing and that may have more to do with unconscious considerations than what we call reality and that some times can put one on edge. What a terrific place to be! All that much closer to the BIG leap.
